Bethany Wells

Architectural designer

I am a designer for performance + interdisciplinary education based in Sheffield + London. With a background in dance and architecture, I often have a choreographic + physical approach to performance design. At other times I enjoy playing with underused sites + contemporary urban issues to provoke + initiate unconventional dialogue.

A graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture and the Royal College of Art, I also teach BA Contextual Studies at Camberwell, UAL.

Recent performance design includes SOUTH, Shred Productions [Lowry Studio, Salford] May 2013, Cat in Hell with Ollie Smith [Junction Theatre, Cambridge, 2013], and WARMTH, a wood-fired sauna and experimental performance space built outside the Royal Albert Hall, January 2011.

I was awarded a Helen Hamlyn Design Award 2011 and was selected for the Wallpaper Graduate Directory 2012. I am a member of the Young Vic Performance + Ecology network and am a Tamasha Developing Artist.
